I have always been fascinated with the complexities of the human form and continually explore recreating it in either complex or simplified images.
The above left plaster cast is called Nick in Pompeii. The cast is set into plaster floated into a wooden framed base. Above right is a 20” mixed media on canvas painting called Pause. I called it Pause because of its shape and image – press your pause button and take a moment.
Because of the many articles I have written I sometimes like to explore the concept of adding words to art. The above left 14”x18” mixed medium canvas is called Peas Porridge and references the childhood rhyme Peas Porridge Hot song. The above right 20”x20” mixed medium canvas is called Venus Pi Trapper and is a play on words. The string of numerals traveling around the human venus and the planet venus is Pi and the planet showcases the pi formula.
My watercolour portraits and images of people are a lot more complex than my mixed medias.
In His Thoughts is 18”x36” and is the pair to the below image of In Her Dreams. The two pieces where designed to go side by side over a king bed but look just as good over a queen or double.
In Her Thoughts and In His Dreams are meant to offer a quiet, calm aesthetic.
Back to Basics and Pushing the Boundaries are a pair of 12”x12” paintings that can be hung together or separately. I have also done these two images in white. Both the white and blue versions are available in my fine art earrings line.
Here’s one of my interactive chalkboard paintings. This one is called Chalkbird Ending and is a 20"x21" mixed media on canvas and wood. The image on the right was done by an unknown person at a showing. It got a little messy in packaging/transporting back to my studio. Too bad, I love it when the interactive pieces get interacted with. I have also done an interactive piece called Chalkboard Ending at you can see it under my Floral Paintings Categorie.
