Industrial lofts can feel overwhelming due to their large size and over height ceilings but by using innovative design details, MARTINarchitects was able to turn Loft is Loft into a cozy and unique space with the help of such design details as a living wall in the dining room, a chalk wall in the kitchen, an oil drum sink in the powder room and a copper tub in the master bath.

Burnished Brass Fireplace and more by Menichetti+Caldarelli Architetti

With a fireplace located dead centre in an open space social area, Menichetti+Caldarelli Architetti decided to turn it into a one of a kind statement piece that is as much a modern sculpture as it is a functional heating device. Thinking outside the box (which in this case is a fireplace) the architects continued the burnished brass design into a dropped ceiling filled with circular voids that play off of the cantilevered stairwell next to it.

I have my Associate of Interior Design from Douglas College; I spent an additional 3 years night school at BCIT studying building technology and 3 years night school at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
