Industrial lofts can feel overwhelming due to their large size and over height ceilings but by using innovative design details, MARTINarchitects was able to turn Loft is Loft into a cozy and unique space with the help of such design details as a living wall in the dining room, a chalk wall in the kitchen, an oil drum sink in the powder room and a copper tub in the master bath.
If you love bright, bold colours it might seem odd to suggest living in an all white apartment but if you think of white as a blank canvas it might be easier to realize that all those white rooms offers the opportunity to splash all kinds of vibrant colours here, there and everywhere.
With a fireplace located dead centre in an open space social area, Menichetti+Caldarelli Architetti decided to turn it into a one of a kind statement piece that is as much a modern sculpture as it is a functional heating device. Thinking outside the box (which in this case is a fireplace) the architects continued the burnished brass design into a dropped ceiling filled with circular voids that play off of the cantilevered stairwell next to it.
