Interior Design

“I began my Interior Design career in Vancouver apprenticing with an architectural and engineering firm for three years. While working for them I moonlighted doing floor plans for homes in East Vancouver to convert them from single-family homes into multi family residences of two or three units. After 3 years I left the architectural/engineering firm to work for myself. I have my Associate of Interior Design from Douglas College; I spent an additional 3 years night school at BCIT studying building technology and 3 years night school at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. The combination of training in building construction, interior design and fine art gives me an all round approach to my design aesthetic and design capabilities from technical to creative and it is that all round approach that makes my design capabilities stand out.

“As an Interior Designer with 25+ years experience, I pride myself in being able to create functional spaces that are both beautiful and efficient. As an artist I have the unique ability to “visualize” and create spaces that not only fill my client’s wish list of needs but also to bring forth their individual personality into beautiful and functional spaces whether the project is a home, business, singular room or a one-off custom designed piece for that “awkward” space. I always try to create areas that represent my client’s wants and needs. A happy client means I have done my job.

Some of the projects I have created can be seen under the interior design tab.”

Fine Artist

“I have been creating and selling my art for over 25yrs. Currently I am working on a local bird series of watercolours that are approximately 20”x30” on watercolour board. These and other paintings – as well as fine art photos – can be found under the art gallery tab.”

Micro Mini Flower Farmer

“I have been gardening most of my life but it wasn’t until a few years ago - when I was introduced to dinnerplate dahlias - that my focus shifted from organically growing my own food to also including those magnificent, giant flowers.

“Today my front, side, and back gardens are filled with food and flowers of all sorts and flowers are made available at my roadside flower wagon from mid April through to the first killing frost. Additionally I have a weekly booth at the Spirit Square Farmer’s Market, a bouquet subscription service, and custom flower arrangements on request. Bouquets, dried flower arrangements and dahlia tubers that I have available can be found under the organically grown flowers tab.”
