Somehow Zarathustra does not look as alluring as the original Venus, floating a few feet above the scallop shell. Maybe a fat cat is too fat to float? Even so I like this version which is called ” This is “The Birth of Venus Cat”. Do you remember who the original artist is” See the photo below to find out.

“The Birth of Venus” was painted by Sandro Botticelli and before you correct me, it really is a scallop shell and not the commonly thought clam shell. More specifically it is a Pecten Jacobaeus. Confirmed by a mollusc specialist by the name of Ellen Strong. Thank goodness because I never understood the clam shell in that shape, and always thought of it as a scallop.

Not until I was an adult did I realize the humour in the beginning of the Green Acres TV show. As a child I did not know the Grant Wood piece “American Gothic” and the newer fat cat art version “American Gothic. I can has cheeseburger had not been created yet. I wonder if Green Acres inspired Zarathustra to create the fat cat art series whose main goal is to improve famous masterpieces with a little humour? I love this series as it helps bring fine art to those who might otherwise not be interested. Way to go Zrathustra!
