Modern Student Apartment by LYCS Architects has Blackboard Ceiling
This modern student apartment comes from the creative minds at LYCS Architects and is located at Campus Hong Kong in the Tsuen Wan district. LYCS refers to this modern student apartment as “Happiness Inside a Small Apartment” and it is one of 48 units located in the lower 3 levels of an existing hotel.
Students spend a lot of time studying and whether online or buried in a book, the idea of looking up and seeing individualized creativity on the ceiling via a giant chalkboard seems like a great way to have some fun without loosing focus.
The interior space is approximately 27sqm or 290sqft and accommodates four students. Every square inch is considered for its functionality and creativity. The beds are half raised and the desks are under the beds.
Each bed is accessed with a steel ladder and black out curtains creates privacy and a lights out atmosphere. There are electrical wall sockets and a reading light in each bed bay as well.
Each bed area within the modern student apartment has a clothes rail, built in shelving, lockable drawers, separate luggage space and a desk below with a multi socket USB hub.
Each window has a view of the water and each unit has a washroom, kitchen and other necessary daily facilities.
With all the functions required in a four-student room, it would be easy to forget the fun factor by LYCS Architects did the opposite. No wonder they refer to this modern student apartment as “Happiness Inside a Small Apartment”.
Even the common room or student lounge is “funned up” with the graffiti art on the wall.
